Realtors can make tons of money if you are the right individual. Becoming a realtor comes with it’s challenges though. If you feel that you are a self motivated person, than maybe becoming a realtor is right for you. Becoming a realtor is rewarding if you know how to sell yourself along with the real estate. Realtors are often broken up into two categories, the sales associate and a broker. Realtors have long been associated with selling homes and properties and that is no different today. As the market fluctuates, as a realtor your income might vary from month to month. Self motivated persons usually do well as realtors and often make a lot of money if you know what you are doing. Knowing how to cater to peoples needs when showing off properties is the key to being a successful realtor.

• Taken the real estate pre license course is the first step to becoming a realtor. Make sure the school is approved by your state and that the course is legititimate.

• Realtors need to be apply to the state agency that handles professional licensing. Every state is different and has a different application process. Applying to the state agency is the second step to becoming a realtor. You need to put in the required hours at the school and pass the test to be able to take the state test.

• Potential realtors need to take the state test. There is usually a fee for this and is done by independent testing agencies. If you want to be a realtor, you should study well or else you will have to pay the fee again.

• Apply to becoming a realtor at a realtors office or real estate agent is the next step. You can start applying for jobs once you pass your state test. When hired by an real estate agency, you will need to join the Board of Realtors. This also requires a fee and covers an entire year. The board of realtors gives you seminars and teaches you about real estate ethics.

• Continuing education after getting a job is the key to being a great realtor.

Realtors have to go through a lot to earn their license and get a job. Once you start it might be a little overwhelming, but your company will give you the proper training and guide you to success. They want you to do well because if you don’t make money, they don’t make money. Many real estate offices will guide you along at first, but it is up to you to figure out your most comfortable way of closing a deal.
